The M-14 Motorway is also known as the Islamabad-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway or the Hakla-Yarik Motorway. It is a 4-lane north-south motorway in Pakistan, spanning over 285 kilometers.

It is part of the Western Route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). It connects Punjab with the southern part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Dera Ismail Khan.

History of M14 Motorway

Islamabad-DI Khan Motorway is a vital piece of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), connecting Kashgar in China with Gwadar Port in Balochistan, Pakistan via a road network.

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved the construction of the motorway in April 2016.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held in May 2016. It was initially planned to be completed in 2018, but due to some delays, the construction was completed in December 2021.

The motorway was inaugurated by the Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, on 5 January 2022.

At the terminus point of the Islamabad-DI Khan Motorway, the N-50 Highway will also be upgraded under the CPEC Western Alignment. It will connect Dera Ismail Khan with Zhob and then Zhob to Quetta.
